Mental Skills Training Program for Teams

The first session in moving forward with a mental skills training program for teams is to have an initial consultation with the coach(es). Brooke will gain an idea of your teams strengths, weakness, and goals moving forward. After the consultation, she will develop a tailored program to fit the team’s needs in which she teaches skills to target concerns and goals.

Common topics covered in these programs for teams are: group cohesion, team building, goal setting, communication, athletic identity, relaxation techniques, self-talk, concentration, refocus routines, pre-performance routines, self-care, imagery and more. Included in this plan is 5, 10, or 15 hours per month. This includes a combination of coach consultations, psychoeducational team presentations, and individual meetings. All of which can be held face-to-face or virtually. As a former athlete herself, Brooke understands the hectic schedule athlete’s have and she will accommodate a plan that works well for your team.
