Brooke typically works with athletes who are 13 years old or older; however, if your child is a serious athlete who wants to learn mental skills to help their overall performance, reach out and we can discuss their readiness. The Mental Skills Training Program Process

The first session will include an intake in which Brooke will cover confidentiality and informed consent, formalized assessment, as well as a semi-structured interview to develop a better understanding of who the client is: their athletic development, social support system, health, team cohesion, goals, mental skills, and more. After the intake, Brooke will develop a tailored program to fit the client’s needs; target concerns and goals. Common topics covered in youth athlete mental skills training programs are: relaxation techniques, self-talk, concentration, refocus routines, pre-performance routines, imagery and more. Sessions for youth athletes normally range from 15-25 minutes (depending on how actively engaged your child is). These meetings can be held once a week or once every other week.
